I suspect I know the answer, but still have to ask:
Is it possible to project align a single surface across two or more surfaces?
I realize that explicit control might not work here and that the complexity will potentially be great, but still.
I ask because in recent versions of Alias, you can now shift click across multiple G2 curves to get a G0 align from a single surface to two or more edges, for example.
Hi eobet,
Aligning one surface to multiple surfaces will work for both Edge and Project, provided the secondary surfaces are continuous.
In both cases, you need to click the edges of the surfaces when doing a multiple surface align, and holding the Shift key isn't necessary.
Hi there,
It is possible to align project along multiple surfaces. Picking on the edges of the surfaces will work. Shift click is not required and it doesn't make any difference, the tool will ignore the Shift.
There seems to be a problem with clicking "inside" the surface. If the input surface is in the way, it will prevent the selection of the surface to align to. In other words if picking "through" the input surface, it won't work. In order to force the picking, you'd need to click on the edge of the surface, which takes priority.
This is something we'll need to look into, to improve the usability of the tool, by filtering out the input surface if picked and allowed the surfaces under it to be picked.
Cheers,
Dan.
