program continues to crash when selecting visible

I have been working on a model and was going back to do some trimming which I felt had previously been all trimmed, but at any rate still needed trimming.

I hide all but 2 selected surfaces trimmed them and selected visible to move on to other surfaces and the program crashes continuously when I do this.

I tried just saving out the surfaces I am working with to another file and same thing happens.

what is causing this?  is there a fix/work around?

Hi Jeff,
thank you for reaching out and providing the details and wire file. Sorry for the inconvenience.
A ticket is logged: ALSO-4996 Visibility crash.

To prevent Alias2023.1 (and older versions) from crashing in this specific case: Activate the Suspend History function

The H at the top right corner only appears when an object with history exists in the scene.
Create a cube and apply a fillet (with history).
At the top right corner, the H appears.
Click on the H and change to “Suspend History”.
Now import the file.
Make objects visible.
Select the Objects that become visible and delete the history.
Now deactivate Suspend History. To continue working.

The crash is probably caused by a history update that is executed once the layer becomes visible.
