New to alias

Running Alias 2015, Windows 7

I imported a piece of furniture from Inventor.  Since the planes aren't the same the orientation from one to another, I decided I'd rather rotate the model around, so the front of my model lines up in my front view. (Alt+L also seems to not be working...)

I have only rotated the part a few times.  I have my selestion tool active, but get the same result of I click, "nothing," or selecting things.

My view cube is gone, and I don't have the ability to tumble.

If I alt+shift_left mouse button, I get a slash through it. I can still pan and zoom. If I try to tumble using the "tumble" under the pallet tab view, nothing.

What did I do?  How do i get it back..?

Hi eveylynne, it sounds like you might be in one of the orthographic views (top, bottom, left, right, front, back). In the menu, go to Layouts > Perspective. That should give you your tumble back. Also, if you are not seeing the view cube, it could be that your Control Panel is blocking the view of it, because it might not be snapped to the right side properly. Try moving the Control Panel and while holding Shift move it to the right top corner of the window, it should snap in place and might reveal the cube. If it is still gone, in the menu go to Preferences > General Preferences, then click Viewing and set the View Control option to View Cube.

Hope this helps. If it does, you know what to do 😉

Thanks everyone!

Sorry, I can't share the file. 😞 Tis proprietary.

I played with a few other files in Alias, and couldn't recreate my issue.

I ended up using Fusion instead of Alias to tweak the furniture.  Thank you for your suggestions!
