What is happening here? Is it because of the graphics driver? Anyway to turn off Hardware Acceleration?

Had my Graphics driver reinstalled, but that did not remove the artifact. So, driver should not be the problem.

try un-embeding your control panel and shelf.

Nope. That doesn't work and even if it did, it wouldn't accept it as answer since my 15.6" screen would be filled with windows and no place for the actual work. 😤

Still don't understand why this happened. Even updating Alias didn't help.

Its an Asus TUF FX505DY laptop. Its got a AMD Ryzen 3550H CPU with Vega 8 Integrated GPU, and with Radeon RX 560X as dedicated GPU.

But I doubt hardware is the problem here. Because I have been using Alias for about 3 months now with no problem. But this problem suddenly cropped up and I have no idea why its happening. I just can't troubleshoot this problem so I am just downloading Alias again, should reinstall the application tonight. See if that fixes the issue. But what if it happens again?

Okay complete uninstall and reinstall did not help either. The workspace is a complete garbled artifacted mess and I was only starting to get the hang of Alias 😞

And now I added /nohardware to the target line in the properties of the Shortcut ti disable hardware acceleration, but that did not help either. I am stumped. Any other ideas? I guess I will try the compatibility settings.

You could try updating your graphics drivers or even rolling back to a previous driver, sometimes issues occur on one particular driver version. From the looks of it this could very well be the cause.

Been there, done that. You can list me all the basic steps and I will let you know which of them I have not tried already. Besides, if GPU was the problem, disabling hardware acceleration would fix the issue - and it does not. I have started another thread where I state that I can literally run Alias 2020 and Alias 2021 (on trial) side by side and its the Alias 2020 that's causing me headache. And I can't use Alias 2021 because I don't have license for it.

Looks like I found the solution. This is so dumb and I don't know what had happened to cause it.

Since Alias 2021 was working just fine, I thought maybe the UserPreference of Alias 2020 must be messed up somehow, so I went to -

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Alias\UserPrefs2019\Preference Sets (Windows 7 and Win10)

/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/Alias/UserPrefs2019/Preference Sets (Mac).

Those paths basically, and just erased the UserPrefs of the corresponding version and then started the application. And this time the application asked me if I wanted to use default preference since it could not find any at its target folder and I said YES PLEASE. And Viola! Problemo solvedo.
