Hi,
I came back to Alias after a little while.
I have always used categories to organize my complex models and it was extremely practical.
There was a category button at the top left (under the File/Edit/etc... menu) in previous versions.
which allowed you to display or not certain categories (see attachment)
and therefore display the corresponding layers.
In the new interface this button has disappeared, yet the categories are still there.
How do I display only the layers of a selected category today, I haven't been able to find a way to do it.
I hope it's still possible because it will challenge my entire workflow,
and make my old files difficult to use.
Good morning,
thank you very much for the feedback.
So I tried several times to get what I wanted through the Categories
Lister window,
but it doesn't work, maybe I did something wrong.
(And I really tried everything) (Alias 2025)
According to the doc,
you must select a category and click on isolate.
But when I do this, it switches the other layers to invisible mode,
but in the layers bar, they are still there.
That's not really what I want.
I would like the layers bar to only display the layers relevant to the
category.
(as we could do with version 2022 and previous ones)
Hello,
I come back to the topic.
I still haven't found a way to only display layers in the layer bar of a
specific category.
(as was the case for all versions before the UI redesign)
It's really important to me.
Without this feature, I no longer see the point of having layer
categories (?)
What do you do when a project contains several dozen layers?
It’s extremely tedious to work with.
Best regards,
bulbx
Hi,
Thanks a lot !
Yes, or a button next to the Stages button of the new interface for
direct selection.
(like the old interface, I don't understand why this was removed)
But whatever the solution, I would be happy 🙂
thanks again,
bulbx
