Camera POV BUG

Hello, I am on 2024.1  I work in orthographic mode.

1. I set my camera POV to a surface. I move around it.

2. I delete the surface.

3. I now try to move the camera (Surface is gone) -> Camera JUMPS and I loose orientation.

This was not the previous behavior (prior to 2024)

Thanks

Nik

Tried this myself, it seems like the camera will rotate around origin if the jack is placed on a deleted surface. Not sure if this is intended or not...

This is not the behaviour that was present in older versions prior to 2024. In my opinion it is not desired and a bug.

I've noticed this as well after upgrading from 2023 to 2024. It's jarring when you want to tumble the view, but the camera controls don't behave as expected, and you lose your orientation. If the developers are reading this, please consider reverting back to how it used to work before the upgrade, or at least make it optional.

Hi all, this is a bug (logged as ALS-26167), and will be fixed in an upcoming version of Alias.

Thanks,

GG
