Smooth Bends

Smooth Bends

It would improve the quality of drawings if handrail bends and any curved member would output as a smooth curve instead of tessalated lines (refer attached). These images are of a handrail piece using the "Railing Joint" macro in the connection vault showing the output and screen display. The on screen display is not really an issue but now that we have smooth line display as part of AutoCad maybe this could be applied to these elements.

This doesn't seem critical however I think it should appear smooth for aesthetics.

At the end of the day as detailers we are judged by the quality of our end product which is accurate, easy to read drawings. Advance Steel has been developed to do this, however a handrail drawing produced in Prosteel will give you a smooth radius bend and tessalated in Advance Steel. Compare the finished drawings and the Prosteel drawing looks better. I have had clients notice the difference since switching. Yes it may be aesthetics but the quality of our work and reputations are based on what we put onto paper.

Yes this is a problem for us as well. often we need to show special parts when they are curved the documents are less than satisfactory.

Surely a style can be set  to show curves without facets?
