Replace the current welding symbols with meaningful labeling

Hi everybody,

I tested the behavior of the welding symbol in various scales and I must say, magic from beginning till the end. Unfortunately, it lacks meaning (maybe even heel and head). It is not just about the size of the text in this symbol, but mainly about the overall scaling of the whole object.

I can't understand why Advance Steel can't linearly scale the entire weld symbol according to the scale of the detail in which it is located - see for example the hole / section symbols, these will be fit the scale nicely.

The weld symbol is also theoretically a block with which various other things can be done. How will the symbol (not just the text) behave in details with different scales? Imagine the difference between 1: 5 and 1:15. I would not say the response of the software will be not user friendly.

One great solution for this has been around for many years, in AutoCAD Mechanical - super user friendly, scalable, definable ... simply logical solution

Example from AutoCAD Mechanical - definition:

Example from AutoCAD Mechanical - linear scaling of the symbol (as a block):

Why do users have to constantly look for replacement solutions / use tricks for basic functions in 3D CAD?

Let us not be satisfied with the existing shortcomings, let us try to transform them into advantages.

Here is one example of how it actually looks in detail with scale M1:5 - super small weld marking (made automatically / manually) - this needs to be fixed:

and here again my question as in the thread. Why should the symbol be different from scale to scale?

the textsize is given (could be set) and if I create a a DIN A0 with different scales on it (maybe details) the symbols and text are always the same (and that's correct from my point of view)
