Properties of screws / welds in automatic joints

Properties of screws / welds in automatic joints

Hello,

In automatic joints you have not full access to all the properties of the screws and welds.

For example if you want to add a additional length to the screws you cannot do this in the dialog box.

You can only do this in the dialog box of the screws. Its the same thing with welds.

We need full acces to all propertis of the screws and welds IN the dialog box of the automatic joint.

Greetings

Jörg

This is not necessarily a good thing (sorry Jörg !!).

Supposing the spec of a project changes and you have to change all bolts from say BZP to Galvanised finish.

Currently you can select all bolts and change it.

If the bolt finish were a property of the joint, you would have to edit every joint in the model, which would be far more time consuming.

...or having to explode joints to do it quickly, which is also not desirable.

Same applies for the properties of other created joint objects like plates and beams - having some of the properties outside the joint is a good thing - in my opinion anyway!

...so if this ever gets changed, we certainly need the option to keep current behaviour as well.

Of course the ultimate solution would be that we can set any object properties inside or outside the joint without exploding the joint!!  :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Hello Drawtech,

my idea is not a complete change of the current behaviour. But when I design a new joint, I want set all the object properties for screws/welds within this design process. So I can save a lot of time and prevent failures.
