Prevent Detail Views to appear during update once deleted

Prevent Detail Views to appear during update once deleted

Hello Developers,

Please give us a break...how many years do you need to fix something so basic...

Below is example of a simple update in column causing already deleted section views to appear, and mess everything.

Yes.... I deal with this on a daily basis!

It's a super pain is the arse and will really start to tick you off.

I've gotten to the  point sometimes where I explode the detail and just say to heck with it  (saving the linked view off to the side so that it doesn't print..... but that defeats the purpose of the parametric modeling chain and for the most part AST does a pretty good job updating the drawings (Geomerty) after making revisions etc as long as you don't do anything too radical.

(This of course excludes the fact that the labels, dims and details etc. move, delete,  recreate etc.. all by themselves and on anything but relatively simple beam.plate etc details that you don't have to mess with too much after creation)

If it weren't for the fact that I believe this situation will get better with AST I would no longer use it.

Like you..... I have spent hundreds of hours correcting stuff that won't stay put in AST. I can honestly say that at this point compared to some of the other packages, using AST on anything but small to medium size projects creates a serious handicap to the detailer, soley because of these issues.

I hate to say that but it's true.

I hope they get these problems solved!!

Fellow Advance Steel Users,

Just 16 of us do think this is important?

How many hours we spend a week to move back / erase etc. views after detail update?

This should be even out of question if we want or do not want default views to appear, rearrange etc.

Do not give them a chance to scrap another major improvement.

Please.

Maybe the seat count of serious detailers is really low.   That may be the answer to this question.

I find it hard to believe that this would go unnoticed. We picked up some more Tekla training this week. We make the switch in Dec.

Enough is enough.

What a shame.

Not ready to give up yet, too many hours spent on this software.
