It will be great for most users if they could create a cage for this area, due to the fact that is stipulated in the norm. According to different European norm (US norm should be also checked) this is mandatory. According the old DIN norm 18799, the cage profile had to be at least 1100 mm from the last step. In the European norm DIN EN ISO 14122 it should be declared similar.
