Object enabler for advance to inventor

Object enabler for advance to inventor

Extend the AS OE, so as to see inventor objects in AS , also see AS objects inside inventor.

Present method rather diffcult to achieve an easy collaboration route.

Doesn't quite work that way.  Object enablers are compact, limited versions of the same AutoCAD plug-in or vertical extension program - just enough to interpret specific custom objects in the DWG file.  There's no way for an object enabler to process content that isn't in a DWG file.  The other way around, Inventor is not built on AutoCAD technology so while it can interpret basic DWG content the entire object enabler structure just doesn't apply.

Other methods are available though.  Using Navisworks, files from multiple sources can be "federated" together for an overall model.  For the past release or two Navisworks NWD files can also be referenced into many programs, including AutoCAD-based verticals.

There's also some interesting developments in converting files - have a look into the Autodesk Forge platform.

Already know all that, used to work for them.

We still need a better link to work directly with inventor to use advance steel in the process industry.

I currently use coordination model, coming via navis, but wish to show both AS and inventor elements in the model and drawings from AS.

Short of doing a shrink wrap of complex inventor assemblies and then import into AS.

You look the meta data.

They must have some way to do this if the wish to get to one common platform in cloud.
