New Create Detail dialog in AS2017.1 more hindrance than help!

The new "Create detail" dialog is pointless and just an extra step/click in the drawing creation process.

Why change what already worked fine?

1. I ALWAYS need to change drawing name, prototype or scale and sometimes all 3 - it depends on each case, but NEVER the defaults. Why?
...because the default drawing start number is set to 100 for a reason - so that drawings created by a process do not "steal" the drawing numbers that you would want reserved for your GA (overview) drawings. ...so I would ALWAYS need to change this (until you have separate default start numbers for manual and process created drawings).
Also prototype and scale are dependent on what the drawing is of and so often are different.

2. If you DID want to create a drawing with the default settings, again just go directly to the main dialog - user only has to click the OK button - one click either way!

...so for most cases where changes are required, this new functionality is another unnecessary click.

...and for the very rare case where the default settings would be OK, it is still only one click whether this dialog is displayed or not.

Hence it is completely pointless at best and another hurdle to productivity in most instances.

Please can this be taken back out or at least have a MT default to avoid it being displayed.

It's absolutely ridiculous this new dialog...........nobody asked for this....I have maybe 2, 3 at most styles that I have carefully adapted to suit all my needs and the only 2 things I ever need to change are the depth-----front and back and scale.

So please.......let's have the original format back, and put a bit more effort into some of the more pressing Ideas that have been requested many times that are really necessary for efficiency and production.

This new window is really bad idea. I agree with all suggestions above.
I also sometimes need to turn off weld symbols or hidden lines, override description...

Aside from the inconvenience of this change, it is a needless and tragic waste of valuable development time that could have been spent on something useful.

When I first made this post, I had only done a quick test and made my first observations.

Having now got the stage of my current project to create drawings, I find it is not only the initial dialog I mention that is the problem.

Even the main dialog is sadly lacking in functionality - no way to change the drawing view title, the view extents etc

...so the entire thing needs to go back to what we had previously.

Ich habe deshalb extra einen Zeichnungsstil erstellt für Ansicht Obem Obeschr. dieser funktioniert auch.

Aber für Selektierte Ansicht Obem Obeschr. sind diese Einstellungen nicht möglich.

Ich finde diese neue Funktion deshalb nicht hilfreich

This is NOT implemented.

Yes SOME of the functionality is restored in AS2018 but:

1.  We still get the completely pointless "Create Detail" dialog box.  As per my original post, "If you DID want to create a drawing with the default settings, again just go directly to the main dialog - user only has to click the OK button - one click either way!"

2.  There is still no place to change the new view title, so it has to be done after the drawing is created - ridiculous.

Why didn't you just revert to the original dialogs we had before all this nonsense was implemented (that we users are effectively paying for and time wasted for both developers and users).

Over 2 years later and still waiting for functionality we ALREADY HAD to be restored following a monumental waste of development time!

...again, restoring functionality we already had is NOT implemented, so why is it marked as implemented?

...now over 3 ½ years later and still waiting for Autodesk to fix their screw up and give us back the functionality we ALREADY HAD!!!!

...as per original post, the first dialog is completely pointless ...COMPLETELY!!

...and we STILL can't set the detail view TITLE as it is not in the dialog (like it used to be).

I don't always want to waste time creating cameras on a small project and just create drawings based on the current UCS.  We NEED the original fuctionality back.

Come on Autodesk, sort this out for crying out loud!
