Multi user: Check out from Project Explorer by Model views, Queries and Groups

Multi user: Check out from Project Explorer by Model views, Queries and Groups

Hi,

The search & selection process for check-out objects from Master model is very time consuming for a big project.
You can use the “Check out by Filter” command, but you cannot save the selection query to use later on.
Other option is to manually select each and every objects that you need to check out.

The feature request is to be able to use the Model views, Queries and Groups from Project Explorer for “Check-out” and “Partial Check-out”.

This will greatly improve the check-out process, especially for complex projects suitable for Multi user.

Thank you very much
Emy

Great feature, should be implemented ASAP.

We also need to look at:

-checking in selected objects instead of all objects that then have to be checked out.

-first user in has access to model views and queries. All other users are locked out. Emy's above point is moot  unless other users have access to items in project explorer. You can also export pre-defined queries to a location and then import to model.

-complete check-outs including members connected by joints will also check out unwanted objects associated with the joint. eg. I may want to check out only objects on one grid line, but any objects connected to by joints (x-bracing, purlin connections, stay connections) will also get check-ed out. Makes it very hard to split a building into different divisions.

1. Would like to be able to check in only certain members.

2. Ditto on wslomiany's comments.
