I need to create railing that is mounted on more than one beam. The macro separates the handrail between the beams. See attached picture This is very restricting when designing handrail panels. The handrail cannot be joined unless the macro is deleted.
I can merge the beams if they are the same size. The problem being that I have already completed the structure and merging the beams will disrupt all the connection macros I have put in place. The design method I use (which is common) is to finalize the structure before adding the handrail. This is so I can position the handrail post correctly once and not have to move them around as the structure develops.
It would be nice to have a merge tool because this happens often, particularly when adding railing to complicated structures.
I have been removing the macro to make this work but it is not ideal. Any changes to the structure or the railing means recreating the railing, which is very time consuming on larger jobs.
