Make drawing editing easier

when you go into document manager to look at drawings created, would it be possible to add some basic editing features to the drawing preview rather than having to open the drawing to edit dims or text, then having to close the drawing and go back through document manager to get back to the rest of the drawings. would it be possible to add or remove dims/text in the preview in document manager.

Hi Richard,

Not sure if you are aware, but you don't have to use document manager to open drawings. You can just open them with std autocad command. This saves the lag in having to go through doc manager all the time. Particularly in large models.

Yes I am aware of that but it's still open a lot of multiple drawings rather than just a quick view and simple editing, doing it through the document manager preview would mean you can then keep adding them to the batch plot then click ok and hey presto they go to the relevant printers saving time in opening and closing.

Like @iwafb, I do not use the Document Manager to open drawings.  I just have Windows Explorer open on my 2nd monitor and double click each drawing to view and edit.  This is very efficient and far quicker to fully open a drawing this way than to view it in Document Manager anyway!

I would disagree with you but if that works for you then so be it, I would rather do some basic editing in document manager then I can add it directly to batch plot so when finished I can close down and hey presto they go straight to where I want the completed drawing going. To do it your way you either have to print one at a time therefore costing time, or you have to go into document manager and batch plot anyway !!

I don't use the Document Manager for printing either.  :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

I pretty much only use it to check drawing status, update and add revisions (and sometimes batch explode).

For printing, I use the AutoCAD Publish command, which is very quick to select required drawings and print all at once to a printer or to a PDF file either as individual files or a multi drawing PDF.

So in other words if the document manger was developed better you would not use a round about the houses solution.
