‘Lap Purlin Plate’ connection – Flange bolt option ‘Holes only’

‘Lap Purlin Plate’ connection – Flange bolt option ‘Holes only’

Request flange bolt option ‘Holes only’ so that we can achieve 10 holes yet only 6 purlin bolts per lap connection as per the Lysaght manual extract attached. Choosing the flange bolt option 'None' removes the holes as well as the bolts. Choosing the flange bolt option 'Top and bottom' gives us 4 extra purlin bolts per lap connection. Many projects we do have a few hundred of these connections, so surplus purlin bolts listed in the bolts BOM would be significant if we choose this option.

Hey Jim,

I have been reporting this to Autodesk for about 4 years now...! Hope you have better luck as all I get is either "works as designed" or silence.

Hi Dardo,

Thanks for adding your vote to this. I am a relatively a newbie to Advance
Steel so sorry I wasn't around to back your previous requests. Seeing as
this is how it is specified in the manufacturer's manual attached to my
original post, I am reasonably confident this item will be given serious
consideration by the development team.

All good mate, we can only focus on what's important at the time...

Fingers crossed! Hopefully if enough users highlight this issue it might be addressed...

I have added below a link to the original forum for more background. In addition, I (and others) have been reporting this directly to Autodesk through support for years without success. All we get is "we have reported to development team...." replies. Please note the macro is NOT currently configured to Australian standards, and as a result, thousands of extra bolts are being created.

@Gernot.Jeromin, please note that whilst this is being addressed through the ideas station, the purlin macro does not conform to standards. Understand that Autodesk might be reluctant to change the macro due to "versioning" issues. However, could this not be addressed through the current "old - not updated anymore" category as a superseded connection?
