Importing existing Assembly/sp drawing

Importing existing Assembly/sp drawing

Hello everyone !

Is it possible to add this function to the drawing creation in AS:

As we can set a detection for standard part in the numbering, is it possible to "call" a drawing already made for this Assembly/Secondary part ?

in my office we have a lot of standard drawing with annotation and order to suppliers. (especially for special part like pulley)

And each time i've these drawings, i have to copy/paste each instruction.

maybe it is already possible but i didn't find any possibilities...

it can be regrouped with the idea of cloning drawing in this link:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/advance-steel-ideas/clone-manual-modifications-from-one-drawing-to-th...

Thanks in advance

Just create a standard part dwg file with the required standard parts, which could be your special parts ( acis solids ) grouped with the required single part reference or commodity value/free remark assigned.

In main model reference the standard part file, it will assign the same number from that source file. This is done by the numbering tab, in main model.

Then back in the source file for the standard parts, if it is a solid, there are several Different ways to create a drawing of the special part. You just need a copy of the drawing for reference , then copy it into the model details folder.

That should help

Hi tanks for your reply.
I know it is possible to set standard part for numbering.

But if i copy any drawing in the détail folder of my main model it Will require to use the command to register to the drawing.
After that the document manager Will say it require an update... And after that take a risk to see our manual dim/label moved.

I'll try it monday at work to set standard part in numbering and after that copy detail drawing.

But thank you for your reply !

So, i've tested your method and all was right except when i copy/paste the drawing standard to the detail folder the status stay unknown and there is no possibility to change that.

So it doesn't work.
But thanks john.

Yes that is correct , I was only saying that the standard drawing is exactly that, it is an external file that is used for reference, you don't need it because it is always the same. You only reference it as standard file, call up quality on BOM.

I said copy into details folder so it was there for reference. But the drawing file is created from the standard parts model so it is registered to that model.
