Handrail dimensioned from nosing line

Handrail dimensioned from nosing line

It is a major pain in the neck to calculate your vertical distance from the nosing line to to the top of stringer on the pitch just to get your handrail at the correct height! Doesnt anyone who works on this software realize that is how 90% of stairs are dimensioned? The whole handrail macro needs some major improvement. smh advance steel.

HI,

This is already there.

When placing your handrail with the Railing macro it asks if you want to select a reference point. If you say No the heights are all measured from the top of the stringer but if you say Yes and pick a nosing point then on the Handrail > Top Handrail page tick the box "Distance from nosing point". Now all heights are measured from the selected point.

Ah, that makes sense. I will have to test this. Thank you!

Thanks Aleck!

Is that in the documentation anywhere? I had no idea.
