This might be common knowledge for experienced Advance Steel modelers, but on a recent job with a lot of stairs, I had to model the handrail per the latest codes and include a grab rail. Advance does a nice job of including the little connector bar for this grab rail, but it put the bars at either end of the grab rail where I wanted to elbow into the adjacent post. I discovered that initially this little bar puts a node at the intersection of grab rail and adjacent post where I can extrude a piece of pipe back to the post. I then do a contour cut on this little piece of pipe against the post. I discovered that if I held back the grab rail from the post, the connector would disappear. Once this is done, I can miter cut the grab rail and "elbow" piece to make the end condition as I want it without having to remove the connection box on the rail.
