Galvanising hole positions in joints

Galvanising hole positions in joints

Galvanising holes in joints are positioned automatically when used (for the joints that have them).

Most of the time this is OK, but sometimes (and particularly when you need to use a different diameter hole) the holes are not ideally placed, and sometimes they are just not usable at all.

Having to resort to manually adding galvanising holes outside the joint is rather frustrating when a joint already has options for them!

...so some extra fields in all joints for adjusting the position of galvanising holes in both X and Y directions would be great.

Also more options for which holes are created.  Although joints have options for 2 or 4 holes etc, sometimes more flexibility is required.

...perhaps from the 4 hole pattern, you could tick/untick checkboxes for which holes you want.

Agreed! More flexabilty is needed to position galv holes in a joint.

Perhaps the galv holes could be incorporated into its own joint which would allow more options to position holes on both beam & plate objects depending on the scenario.

To add to this, we need to be able to adjust the position - e.g. the distance away from the corner. Often, the holes are positioned such that you can't get a continuous weld around the beam/member that the plate is welded to.

Agreed, in most cases, the standards that are required for galvanising holes can' be accommodated with the joint macro tool so manual adding galvanising holes is the end result.
