Fix Rollover Tooltips and Quick Properties

Fix Rollover Tooltips and Quick Properties

You can set up both the rollover tooltips and quick properties in the CUI to show you information about items in advance steel like name, coating, material.... pretty much whatever you want. But it doesn't always work. For some reason it quits working and upon returning to the CUI you find the original checked boxes for your desired information and now there identical boxes (unchecked) in there as well. 2 "name" boxes, 1 checked, 1 unchecked. So you check the second box, it starts working again, only to stop again later. Go back into the CUI and now there are three boxes. "name" checked, "name" checked, "name" uncheckedThis could go on forever. It needs to be fixed. It's very helpful, when working, to rollover or single click select and beam to see some info without having to double click into the advance properties.

Arrrgggghhhh!! I know, this is so infuriating! Every time you check the box it runs for awhile, then stops and laughs an evil laugh while creaitng another entry box for you to tick!!

We use these to check models and this happens all the time.  Very frustrating!

We would also like an option to speed up this box being presented, basically instantly when you hover over an item.

All the delay timers in the AutoCAD options don’t change this behaviour.

I have the same experience with the feature. Unfortunately the issue is not yet fixed.

Hi All,

The rollover tooltip is potentially a great tool. The problem described above has been known for years. It is caused or triggered depending on the first item it looks for tooltips on when you start Advance Steel. If the first item is a beam all will work fine. If the first item is a plate it goes berserk. If it has lost the plot, restart AS and make sure the first item you touch with the cursor is a beam and wait for the tooltip. You will be good now for the rest of the session.

The only other problem is, it spends so long looking for tooltips for everything the cursor passes over that the cursor gets very jerky.

Regards,

Aleck.
