We can use the MT defaults "Create weld symbols for the default thickness" and "Standard weld size in drawings" to omit weld symbols for our standard welds and cover it with a standard note on drawings.
Typically in the UK all welds are continuous 6FW unless noted otherwise and we do not "clutter" the drawing with unnecessary symbols.
However, currently if you enter a value for length or pitch and it is a default size weld, you still do not get a symbol on the drawing so it seems pointless having these new fields.
...so if I have say a stitch weld, I still have to resort to using the "Additional Data" field to enter the info so that I still get a symbol on the drawing.
Essentially, if any other values are entered in any field, a weld symbol is required on the drawing to show this information.
