Dear Autodesk Team - please enable full object rotation

Dear Autodesk Team - please enable full object rotation

For all objects in the model area, there is no full possibility of rotation in this working space. The are lot of limitations.

Example (shaded mode) - for this standard case is:

- the rotation via X-axis not possible (blocked)

- the rotation via Y-axis limited to +/-90° only

- only the rotation via Z-axis possible in the full range

 It doesn't matter if I use rotation via SHIFT+Mouse, 3Dorbit, ...

The free rotation in each axis is the BASIC function of all other 3D CAD (Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia,...).

We don't want to pay for a 2,5D CAD license.

I think you are only using the "Constrained Orbit" - check "Free Orbit".

Hi @Schlemar ,

you need to switch to the 2nd option "Free orbit" each time, because it will reset to "Constrained orbit", if command closed. Please compare work with Constrained and Free orbit - this is not free rotation in 3D.

You can't work in 3D like that (compare with Inventor, SolidWorks, ...). It just has to work properly via SHIFT and mouse wheel (without limitations) - that's called working in 3D.

Unfortunately, these limitations are also transmitted to our navigation devices like 3DConnexion SpaceMouse, ...

You don't need to switch each time. You can start direct with 3DFORBIT. I have put this command on my mouse and it works fine for me.

3DOrbit for each rotation in 3D? No command is needed for that ... it must work automatically without magic, otherwise it is not 3D CAD. As described, unfortunately these restrictions also negatively affect the behavior of 3D navigation devices in Advance Steel

Try Inventor from Autodesk, you'll notice the difference immediately
