Copy Joint Name

Copy Joint Name

Unless I am missing something, the Joint Name is not automatically copied when copying a joint. This slows down the process as each joint propeties needs editing to add the name. I'm sure this would be quite a simple fix for the development team.

This has been requested previously, that the joints remain linked to the master when copying.

Hi,

@George.Fouler I think what you are referring to is the Joint Group functionality that has been there for several years. "Create Joint in a Joint Group" or "Create joint in a Joint Group, Multiple" are similar to the Create By Template tools (Joint Copy in UK)  and next to them on the palette. Joints made this way are all linked and all change together when the master is edited.

Interestingly the Joint Name also copies with these functions but I agree with Nial and woudl like it to copy with the Create by Template functions too.

Aleck,

I am fully aware of the joint group function.

When you use an advance copy, the joints become unlinked to the master and need to be relinked one by one. Very tedious process.
