Change menus and features so they all share "syntax"

Change menus and features so they all share "syntax"

I would like to see you change the behaviour of multiple menus / features so they work in the same way.

Today "Element Contour, UCS" workflow is: Click on button -> Click on item to be modified -> Click on reference item. -> Done

Today "Miter" workflow is: Click on button -> Click on item 1 -> Enter / Right click -> Click o item 2 -> Enter / right click. -> Done

Could you make it the same? I don't care either way, I just find it annoying to right click in the middle of a command that doesn't require so, or keep clicking on items in a command that requires right click, because I can't remember which is which.

Hi,

tuning is fine, but you must also follow the command line or activate dynamic input via F12:zwinkerndes_Gesicht:☺️.

There should be a clear difference whether Enter after each object or after group selection.

I have been working with CAD software for long enough to know to follow the command line :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

My suggestion is not about whether the input the program asks is confusing or not, but rather that two seemingly identical features (namely select an object to cut and an object to cut against) don't share the exact same syntax, whether that is with or without "enter" between selections.

Miter might have been the wrong example since it cuts *both* profiles.. But if you take a look at "Cut at object" instead, the workflow is the same (and you can even choose miter in that menu as well)

Another example:

put a bend between two plates: Click "Create folded plate - without position adjustment" -> Click plate 1 -> Click plate 2 -> Done

Put a miter between two profiles: Click "Miter" -> Select beam 1 -> Enter -> Select beam 2 -> Enter -> Done.

Both of these commands activate a menu with settings once you've selected your items. Neither of these commands allow multi selection. You MUST select one, then the other.

I totally agree with you. There are many instances where the syntax is either inconsistent or just plain confusing.

Indeed, and then there's also when creating a bend in a plate - Your first selection doesn't stay lit, so you have to guess whether or not you managed to click the plate.
