Camera drawing with model object search and group selection

Camera drawing with model object search and group selection

Within the camera, there is currently no object selection method.
But within the system there are several ways to create selection sets, by search/query method , also groups can be used to select objects.
Also the model browser can be set to only show elements from a model view, when active.

Can this ability be linked to the cameras, so that objects from these selections methods could be linked to the camera , thus giving a dynamic input to the camera rather than a fixed selection set.

So for example to activate a floor plan model view, we see the beams and the columns, but trying to do as isometric view the beam elements above and below show in the view generated, rather than just the required floor level.
If there was option to say based upon model view then this would only show the elements from the model view enabled. Also if elements are added within the model view then those would then show in an updated drawing, thus removing the issue of selected parts and not be able to update the initial selection set.

Same if there was option to link with a query or a group, these searches and groups can be run and updated also, as the model progresses.

This would then link in with the other uses of searches for status of objects for approval, lot and phase reference, fabrication data.

We need more control in relation to the objects detailed by the camera. The isometric instance described above is a perfect example!

HI Team,

I would like to see an option in the camera styles to only detail the selected assembly. Whilst I know you can clip the camera view, it is currently impossible to limit that clipping to a single assembly (connected parts and adjacent elements also show up). This means that in cases where an additional or partial view (of a long assembly, 3D view etc) is required, we cannot achieve this.

As a workaround, it's been suggested to detail using current tools and "delete" the unwanted items. Not ideal...

Thanks for considering.

Cheers,

It would be perfect if you had the filters you can do in the model also are possible in the detaildrawings. (lot/Phase, coating, user attributes, etc etc.)

Then in the detail/workshopdrawings you have the possibility to set off all what the user not want to see in his detaildrawing.

this is also if you create a detaildrawing without camera's. In camera's it is more important because of the allready earlier mentioned update problem.  added elements in model would be shown in updated drawings.

Maybe it could be implemented in the Qselect command. Now you can only search for autocad propperties.

This will be greatly useful and hope it get implemented soon. While I've been learning the drawing creation side I've been trying to use this sort of methodology as it seems like a very intuitive method but was surprised to see it wasn't possible.

This would be mega time saver!
