within the Camera View dialog, there needs to be an option to allow for Stepped Views ( Jogged), this is where the view steps back to show a different section depth. this is used in many types of GA Drawings to to created Staggered Section Cuts through models.
Advance Steel could take a lead from the method applied in Plant 3D to apply such a Jogged view options from the Ribbon interface when creating a drawing in that platforms ortho mode.

the Step in the view results in a stepped view in the ortho paper space drawing created.
below we can see the Advance Steel Stair is cut through to show partial flights, at the step set in the original model view control box.
thi would be very useful in the application of building elevations that step back, but you only wish to show the outer steel face columns and beams, but at present the depth is set to cover both near and stepped back, this can pick up other beams in the model floor depth.
