Advance steel - License error

Iinstalled an educational version and every icon i click I have a license error. During installation process I was never asked for a product key or serial nor a requesting code, I don't know what to do or the student version does nothing?

Here I send a pic of what I'm getting. It doesnt say any error number so I don't know what it is or how to activate the License. I have Autocad Mechanical 2014 Licensed and I want to try the Advance steel but I can't do anything. Can someone helpe me?, thanks.

Welcome to the community Eder.

It sounds like you may have used the Install Now delivery option which automatically activates the software for you during the download and install process.

That being said, do you see the license if you open help -> about? One option to force an activation would be to remove all Autodesk licensing info from your machine by deleting the following:

Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8:
C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data
C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data.backup

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_*.data.backup

Mac:

/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet/adskflex_*.data
/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet/adskflex_*.data_backup

This will trigger all Autodesk software to be reactivated. In the event a reactivation limit error message occurs when activating the software, please contact our License Assistance Team for direct support.

Let me know if this works!

Sorry didn't work, and yes  I can see my license, but I dont know if is making any conflict, since is a 2014 version and advance steel is 2015 or because is a student version and License that I have with Autocad is not or don't know what could it be.

If you have downloaded AS 2015.1, you will need to use AutoCAD 2015. AutoCAD 2014 is not supported for AS 2015.1

Wow, really? do i need Autocad 2015, what a wrong design from Autodesk that means that I need to upgrade my 2014 license just to try a new software?. Is there an Advance steel 2014 but when i downloaded i didn't see that option there was only 2015 and 2015.1, I chose 2015.

I only wanted to test it and see if meets my needs. I think im going to look Bocad or Tekla instead.

There is an AutoDesk Advance Steel 2014 Available. It is unfortunately only available to customers on maintenance subscription.

Has anyone solved this issue?

I am using Building Design Suite Ultimate 2015, and seeing exactly the same license error as the original poster.

I wanna try this before migrating from the horrified Autocad Structural Detailing to Advance Steel, but no matter how many times I try to install the trial version, I see the license error.

Please help.

The error message you are receiving could be caused by a conflict in license types between your Design Suite and Advance Steel.  For instance, if you are using a network license for AutoCAD (Design Suite), Advance Steel must also be on a network license.  The links below will provide additional information regarding this issue.

Advance Steel: Your license does not authorize this command

Now that answers all my trouble time to install the trial version.

Yes, indeed I do use network license for the building design suite in my office.

Surprise to know that there is no way to test out the software with network license autocad.

Thank you for the clarification anyway.

No, autodesk havent given any solution and they dont care, i have contact them and is allop they send you to license dept, and then they send you to educational comunity. I think the only probable solution is to have autocad 2015, that suppoudsly is the solution
