Stair naming ??

I am still in the learning phase of AS but have run into an odd occurrence. I have modeled a run of stairs using the normal stair routine. I run the numbering command and proceed to develop the assembly drawings. The stairs are modeled as standard channel stringers with bolted in grating treads. 3 of the 4 stairs are created and labeled as "Grating" rather than stairs. On the assemblies where this happens there are no pull outs of individual parts needed to fabricate the assembly. I have modeled other stair assemblies without this happening.

You need to check the tread to stringer assemble, I expect it is set to be shop bolted, rather than site bolted.

You will then need to clear the numbering and renumber the model/stairs.

With them being shop bolted it sees it as one assembly, rather than seperate items like treads, fabricated stringers.

All 4 of the stairs are set to shop bolting of the treads, the one stair worked perfectly.

What happened is probably a grating part (tread or landing) became a main part.

Make all shop bolts field bolts, make parts you want to be main parts - main parts and renumber.

yes Dimitrov_1 is probably correct you could check this by selecting one of the assembly pieces and using the "mark main part of assembly" in the output tab . This will mark the main part of the assembly in red and if its not the desired main part you can select the part you want to be main part and use the "create main part of assembly" command also in the output tab.
