Staggered Anchor Bolt Pattern on Base Plate

20180216_091052.jpgI am attempting to create a staggered anchor bolt pattern on a base plate using the traditional Base Plate Connection command.  Please see the picture below.  I know it's short on dimensions.  That shouldn't matter.  I've been messing around with the various options in the command, and unless I am missing something, this hole pattern simply can not be created using this command.  Any thoughts?

This cannot be done using the baseplate connection as such, but you can create a baseplate with 2 rows of anchors in the X and Y direction. Delete the joint box around the connection and using the "Split Bolt Group" tool in the Objects palette (4 yellow squares with a green cross in middle)  and then delete the ones you don't want.

Or alternatively, just create a plate of the size you want under column and manually add 2 anchors at location.

Thank you for your response.  I did end up using your advice to create the pattern in question.  Unfortunately this situation applies to over 30 columns on this particular design.  I really wanted to achieve my goal within the confines of the Base Plate Connection.  I wished to maintain parametric control over the base plate detail and maintain a parametric association between the 30 something base plates.  I always plan on things being wrong or a customer changing their mind.

This sounds like a job for a "User Connection".

Hi,

If you use the "Corner Base Plate" joint and persevere you can get that joint OK. See attached model.
