A few questions

Is "Model Role" just another filter?

Why use "groups" when we have "lot/phase"?

Attributes are used for what?

Are Groups and queries just 2 ways to do the same thing?

Using these functions seem to be easy, I am not seeing the difference between them.

Thanks

JK

Is "Model Role" just another filter?
==> Model Role is a (parameter/atribute/characteristic/property) you input in your element member

Why use "groups" when we have "lot/phase"?
==> Groups are elements with properties in comon

Attributes are used for what?
==> Some projects need properties that are not native ou default in Advance Steel, for example: in progress / in manufacturing...

Are Groups and queries just 2 ways to do the same thing?
==> Query is a way to search some element in your Model Space. You make a query to seache "22 mm bolts"

Using these functions seem to be easy, I am not seeing the difference between them.
==> Yes they are easy to use. Just search and know their functions

Hi,

Model Roles tell Advance Steel what a given part or assembly is so it can select the correct drawing rules (Drawing Styles) to use when drawing the object. IF you select poor model roles you will get poor drawings. NOTHING makes a bigger difference to the drawing than using the correct Model Roles. It is critical to getting the best drawings.
