Section views for attached plates in assembly drawing

     Hello,

I have assembly and I'm trying to modify the Drawing Style in order to achieve automatic section views for all attached plates to a beam in assembly drawing. Please, see attached picture for clarification - I need sections views A-A, D-D and F-F to be generated automatically(one attached plate per section view) :

Can you please, tell me how to make settings of the view in Drawing Style Manager to accomplish that?

Thank you and have a great day!

    Regards,

Hi @S.MANICKAVASAGAM ,

I tried your suggestion and it generates section views, but they are not according to what I want. Please, see the picture below. The section A-A is too deep and it is showing 2 attached part by x orgin. I need two sections here for every attached part by x. The section B-B is from outside the assembly and it is showing the end plate too, which makes the section unreadable. I presume that this can be fixed by adjisting the depth of the section and I tryed with "Intersection from right Front 30 Rear 100" instead of "Intersection from right Front 30 Rear 500", but without success. Can you please let me know how to fix that and make a separate section for every attached part on the beam.

Здравей, Опитай като промениш Choice of View to interactive.

Така ще можеш да селектираш къде да има сечения,

You can also modify the Max distance details to be merged in MT if section views are not set to interactive:

If you set it for example to 20mm, then everything that is outside these 20mm will initiate section views.

Another reason that may be for some parts not initiating section views may be if the model role is set to a part that is not initiating section views:

In MT, load database, and check if model role is listed

If you need to add a model role, add it first in MT, Object Property Editor.

Copy one and re-name:

After that, if you need to modify the behavior, add to this table-AstorBase, ModelRole:

The new model role will have to be added in DSM as well:

This is an example of how we have modified and cut views so they show minimum material without parts that are behind the end plates:

We have added a new view direction and model box name INTERSECTION FROM RIGHT-Front 3/8" rear 1/8".

Hope this helps.

Ok, glad I helped,

...BTW-I used to work in Varna Shipyard from 1995-to 1999 as a production manager and scantling engineer.

It went to bankruptcy in 1999.

4,500-5,000 employees were laid off in one day.

Don't want to remember it, but it stays with me.

Graduated from the same university you did,

Small world.

Happy Holidays and stay safe.
