Section cut view on drawings - display of visible / hidden lines

Hello,

In a cut view on drawings some beam/columns are displayed with all features - post on the right in picture below, all edges, radius etc visible - while others are displayed without features. How can I set all beam /columns etc to be displayed without features?

I think that the main part of an assembly only is displayed with features.

Thank you.

Are you familiar with editing detail styles?

Essentially, this is controlled from the "object presentation" area of the actual drawing style. You will find that the main part is set to something like "Visible(Exact)HiddenStystem", where as all the sub parts will be simply "VisibleHidden" or "VisibleHiddenSystem" (or similar)...

Here's an example of how to change the display type of the main part on section views:

- Firstly, make sure you have a backup of all your databases if you are new to this process...!

- Identify the detail style used

- Start DSM

- Go to relevant property of object presentation

- Change presentation and apply...

Hope it helps

Thanks Dart, I appreciate the your time.

Not intending to be a pain, I have tried without success.

The drawing I am trying to change the presentation for is a GA Plans, Elevations/Sections which does not have a "Cross Section" view in the list (see below).

I however went and changed presentation for a Cross Sections, Right 1:10CO with no success.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dart,

I followed the clues in your video and now it's all clear.

Management Tools / Drawing - General / General , Default view request for manual cut view setting is (for me) "Cross Sections,Right 1:10 CO" which is different from "5 - Cross Sections,Right 1:10CO" - yeah, mental, I know.

I have modified the drawing style/Object presentation for "Cross Sections,Right 1:10 CO" which is buried somewhere down the list of view styles available - as per instructions in your video.

Thanks again for your time and kindness.

cheers
