Hello,

Is it possible to insert script Camera position (elevation of midpoint referenced to World UCS) in Plan View drawing title.

Any idea how to link the camera position in model and drawing title would be appreciated, thank you.

If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.

Hi @acbsdesign ,

Thank you for posting on Advance Steel forum 🙂

The VBScript can use and manipulate the token values. But there is no token for camera position / elevation. So I do not see how the VBScript could be used.

Maybe a feature request - to have a token like "Camera position" or even a "User attribute" for camera - would be great to solve this request.

For now, as a possible workaround, could you use a special part for each camera ? Something like that:

- Insert a small special part in the 3D model in the exact position (a sphera solid as a "special part")

- Each special part has 10 User attributes. So one of them could store a value for camera position

- These special parts could have a label to show only the UserAttribute that you want (you could filter the special parts by a specific model role)

I hope it helps you

Best regards,
Emy

@Emanuel.Nestor

Thank you for your response, I will use the proposed workaround.

Can you please make an official request to the dev. team so we can have the Elevation of the camera as an attribute in the Plan View detail title.

Thank you again.

Hi @acbsdesign ,

Thank you for reply. Hopefully the workaround will be OK.

I see you have already posted a feature request on the Advance Steel Idea Station portal. This is the official way to submit an improvement request to development team, so it is OK like that.

I will add also my comment there, about token and / or User Attributes.

Best regards,
Emy

User attributes will require manual entering, (typos and errors), there should be a way to add Z-value of the camera midpoint as a token.
