Restore Cut View Label

I have deleted the label (A-A) from a cut view.

Is it possible to restore without deleting the view and recreating?

Hi @TomR_au,

Thank you for posting on Advance Steel Forum 🙂

Could you try to Update the detail please ?

I would expect to get the cut symbols back to detail.

Best regards,
Emy

Hi Emy,

It is the view label for a cut section that I want to restore rather than
the section symbol. That is the label for the generated cut section.

Hi @TomR_au,

I see, you are asking about the cut view title / label: after you delete it, it remains deleted even after update.

Actually it is implemented behavior (keep what user changed).

So, if you want to get it back, you can follow these steps:

- delete the view

- select the detail green frame and open the "Advance Detail Properties" dialog box

- search for the deleted cut view

- Select it and then switch it to "Always On"

Here is an example:

Is it working ?

Best regards,
Emy

Hi @Emanuel.Nestor,

Yes, that will recreate the cut view including the view label.
Of course I lose all manual dimensions and modified part label positions when the cut view is recreated.
I was hoping the label could just be 'turned on'.

With regards to implemented behavior

I note that if the section arrows are deleted by the User the arrows are recreated when the detail is updated.

(user changes not kept)

Thank you for taking the time to response.

Hi @TomR_au,

Thank you for reply.

I understand, you would want a similar behavior with deleting the detail title: it will not reappear when update detail. But the detail title is not actually deleted, it is turned off (to "No title") and you have the option to turn it on.

Maybe you could post a feature request on Advance Steel Idea Station portal ?

Regarding the cut symbol that reappears after detail update:

- it is the current implemented behavior (reason: without cut symbol you do not know exactly where the cut is created)

- the development team is looking for additional enhancement to the current behavior. Hopefully we will see something in the future versions.

Best regards,
Emy
