I have created a model using the portal frame function in Autodesk Advance Steel that has purlin beams running at a right angle to rafter beams sitting on rafter beams. How do I create a 2d plan drawing showing the complete assembly mark detail on the drawing?
In the model and drawing below, the drawing does not show the complete assembly mark detail.

I would say that looking at the drawing view you need to increase the z depth of the view to cover the whole roof area.
if you used a camera object in the model, then created view on drawing from camera then change the size of the camera object in the model and update the drawing. ( you can do this via the grips of the camera.
if you manually created the drawing then you need to access the drawing view properties and under there look for the tab that shows the viewport size, you can advance adjust the values and you can move the main plan position of that view, it is a little bit more difficult to control, but can be adjusted.
Alternatively you can create a new view but use a selection view port method to set the size my selecting on the model.
and finally you could create a model view on the plan of the roof and then us the inbuilt automatic drawing option , this you may have to set the drawing style and use a drawing process.
