problems moving a hole

Hi all

I am working on a set of stairs that is using grating with endplates and bolts to attach to 12 x 14.3 MC channel.

When I designed the stairs, I used an old diagram for the hole placement.

When the stair treads were delivered, I checked the hole placement and discovered my error.

At some point the macro box for the stairs was deleted, and I cant use the automation to add the correct hole positions.

I have tried using the move, and the advanced Copy/Move command and I am not having any luck.

Can someone point me in the right direction or do I need to redraw everything?

Thanks

From your description, I am going to assume that the holes are part of a bolt (through the endplate of the tread and the stringer).  You need to move the bolt.  You should be able to do them all at the same time with the Advanced Copy/Move.

If the bolts are part of a pattern (multiple bolts, you will need to move the whole pattern then adjust the spacing.

It is the spacing that is off.  The original spacing is 6 1/2 inches and it need to be 8 1/8.   Only 1 hole needs to be moved.

I just did a test and it looks like there is a "sub-macro" for the stair treads that needs to be deleted (just the joint box) before you can move the bolts.

The bolts are separate so you should be able to move the one bolt that needs to shift after you delete those "sub-macros".

Jonathan-

I dont have those "sub macros".   Do I have to unhide them somehow?    I have tried advanced copy/ move and regular move.

thanks

Click the "Display" button and select everything.  It should display any joint box that is currently not shown.
