Parts showing up that are not in my model.

Has anyone ever seen this message?

"The object has no graphic representation and thus cannot be displayed"

This message comes up when i select the mystery parts to mark them.

Its kind of hard to explain but when I number my model the initial dialog box that comes up with the results of the numbering there are three parts that are not in my model, when I go into my model browser the parts are not in there, then I created a GA drawing using a ground floor camera the parts are now in there with a representation into outer space, my grid is also moved around funny. I attached a picture of the initial numbering dialog box with the 3 mystery parts and a picture of the drawing I created along with a picture of the model. The mystery parts are numbered 1036, 1037, 1038.

So the parts just magically appeared out of nowhere, I deleted them all out (some of them were 3 or 4 overlapping) and everything came back to normal, my numbering, my drawings everything, even an elevation drawing I created wasn't showing the correct objects and that came back to normal. I must've just had a major meltdown or some glitch.

It is possible to copy beams and parts on top of each other and these may not be obvious, it is possible to put holes in space that are not on a beam either. Before numbering it is always best to do an error check and clash detection to pick up on these sorts of errors and repair them.

@suicidedoors I had that happen once. never did figure it out. I had to start a new drawing to get rid of them.

Try to use the "Model check" functionality to identify and potentially fix those elements that don't have a graphical appearance. This can appear from multiple cases, in which elements were created somehow with incorrect geometrical values (plates with one of the sides equal to 0, or 0-length beams and so on). Model check should be able to identify and fix those elements. 

If not, you can use the model browser to find and select those elements, and once selected delete them. The model browser will allow you to select them even if they have no body.

I got it. You need to open the new file and copy your entire model and number again. Worked in my case!

I also had the same issue. I run the audit command, then its comes on the screen then i deleted.

Has anyone had this problem?

I've done a clash check and I'm finding these "parts" inside some of my model parts, 

I've attached is an example, I piece of HSS1.66X0.440 inside a HSS 1.66X1.88 handrail.

I've turned the view to 2D Wireframe I can clearly see the extra "part" I delete it but when I go back or rerun a clash check and it shows up again.

Hi,

The red shape is not a new part it is the representation of the clash. That is the overlapping volume between two parts. It is up to you as a human to figure out what is actually clashing and how to resolve it. The clash check report tells you which two parts are clashing and the red shape is how they overlap. The red shape will come back every time you double click the line in clash check unless you have solved the clash.

 are also having the same problem with no apparent solution. What we did was delete the weld that jointed all the parts and carefully select parts to be welded again.  This fixed that one assembly, but we still have this ghost part in our model
