hi,
one method is :
you should use the management tool defaults that relate to colour by layer for arrangement/overview drawings, This should be checked in your default profile. In the model you can then create a layer for existing steel and place the existing steel on that layer, when the drawing is created from a drawing style or from a camera operation, with the layers being drawing down into the GA drawing.

also you need this set as well to transfer it

the other method is to control it also by additional object presentation rule in the drawing style/s, for this to work the objects that are existing steel need to have a model role applied that highlights them as existing, you can still put them onto a dedicated level as well, but a model role will help find them and search for them and also allows you to create specific prestation line in an overview/arrangement type drawing to control their output colour. under the
drawing styles you may need to create or adjust the presentation rules to allow this within a drawing style.

also you may wish to avoid the creation of fab details for existing, if so then please see this blog post :

hope this advice helps
