You need to change the behaviour of the existing steel, follow the steps in this blog - https://www.graitec.co.uk/blog/entry/modelling-existing-steel-in-advance-steel
The system will still have to give it a number but it will be something like "-10000" most importantly these items won't show on your material lists of Fabrication output
