Numbering Issue

Evening,

I'm currently adding new single parts to an existing model. When I go to number the new single parts, the next part mark isn't being used. It's moving several numbers down the list. In my first screenshot, the part mark jumps from 96 to 265.

Our current company policy is to not re-use previously used part marks, so that box is unchecked in the "Special" tab in Numbering. The existing model parts need to keep their current numbering.

I've used the toggle for SP/MP to delete the assembly part numbers. Didn't help any. 

Strange thing is that the numbering was working just fine last week when I deleted the assembly part numbers. There have been no changes to any settings. Only turning the PC off.

New bit of info to pass along.

If I check the "Reuse unused marks" box, the numbering will use the previous unused marks and continue numbering correctly after that. Screenshot attached.

Is there a limitation on how many "unused marks" that can be used? The count I was up to was 9 unused marks when this problem started to occur.

this could really not said by just having screenshots.

in general there's no gap, but maybe you copy a few elements from another dwg which have these number? After this you delete them but AS is recognizing the numbers of the old objects? An audit could help? 
But as I wrote, this is just an imagine, there could be so much reasons for it. The history of the dwg and your working with this dwg would be interesting for investigation.

No elements were copied from any other model, it was started from scratch.

I did run an audit and it found 1 error and it was fixed. Ran the numbering again, but still no luck. Same situtation.

Hi,

all ADVS parts except bolts and anchors are both single parts and belong to an assembly group, meaning they have a single part number and a main part numbers. The numbering process attributes preliminary numbers, single part numbers and main part numbers. I looked at your model and saw that you use startnumber 1 for both single part and main part numbers. This should not be done and is causing the problems you encounter. Standard is to use distinct number ranges that can get easily  differentiated and will not mix.
