NC1 question

Is there a way to change the location of the part mark on channel?   On my 12 x 14.3 MC channel, AS is placing the part number on the inside of the channel.   I am needing it on the face where my carrier angle is located.

Thanks for the help.

Steve

Hi,

Try changing the Default called "Structure BOM.NC > DStV NC&DXF > NC Numeration Plane Index".

Aleck-  if I were scribing MC 12 x 14.3 channel, and the scribe marks were on the wider face without the flanges, would this be considered the front?? or is it all USC dependent?

Thanks for the help

Hi,

The UCS has nothing to do with it. For a channel the FRONT is always the outside of the web, toes away from you. You can work out the other planes from there.  This is defined in the DSTV standard that NC files are written to. Just Google DSTV Standard and you can easily download a PDF.

Aleck-

Thanks for the help.

I have looked in both my versions 2024 and 2025 and I dont have the NC numeration  item.   Am I looking in the wrong spot?

Thanks

Hi,

I don't know where you are looking so I can't say. I have spelt out the path in Management Tools defaults in my first post above. If you are not using the UK Build it could possibly have a slightly different name (each build is slightly different) so look for a default with the front, top, bottom, rear choices.
