Middle Rail Polybeam

I asked this a couple days ago and got no response, so I'm posting to tell the Advance Steel development team that this is an issue that needs resolving. I have handrail that is made up of flat bar posts and round bar rails. When I first modeled it, I was more concerned with how it looked than how it went together in the shop. When making details I noticed that where I had bends, AS would put in a separate welded in piece, an elbow. I didn't like that knowing our fabricator would just bend this 1" bar as required. So I went in to the model and found I could make the top rail a polybeam, perfect. On my stairs I can make the grab rail a polybeam. Why can't I make the middle rail a polybeam as well? So now, I have to make all three rails out of individual parts and have a note for the fabricator to "build to suit", otherwise it makes us look silly. The BOM becomes a bit worthless as the fabricator can't order material with confidence.

The last thing I want to do, especially with handrail, is to remove the intelligence. My luck would have me remove the intel, and then have to remodel it all after a change!

1. Very good point, I just had to explode in order to do it right.

2. Also-railing does not have an option for splitting into segments, usually 20'-0.

3. Also-When handrail and grab rails are polybeams-radius of bending has to be the inner radius, not the system line radius.

Bents / elbows if ordered are always classified into 1" IR, 2"IT etc. 

Same if bent "inhouse"-shop has a few standard raddi of bending-INNER radii, not at system line.

4. Also-ALL HEIGHTS for handrails and grabrails have to be taken from the nosing line, what a shmako idea to get the heights from the top of the stringers even when sloped.

When stringers are sloped, we slow down to do the height right, instead of entering the values in the dialog box.

5. Speaking about the connection dialog box-it is terrible-we can read only part of the lines describing the parameters. It looks like done in 1945.

6. Please hire a real detailer to advise the dev's how is railing created and detailed in the real world-pay 3-4 hours and all of us will benefit after that.

I thought you could add a nosing point (reference point) when creating the railing. I just did some generator stairs with grating,stairs and railings and all came out better than expected
