Line weight

As the title indicates, I'm looking for a way to edit the line weights.

I'm aware of the option for making the .ctb file to accomplish this, however I would like to know how to change the line weight so it comes out right in the layout. There must be some parameter that controls it. For dimensions it was easy enough to find.

On the side not, how are you printing your drawings, grayscale, monochrome, color...?

I hope I understand it right, you want to see the line weight in the layout? You had to activate the line weight button.

first let the button show directly:

Then press on it, so it glow blue:

Now you should see in the layout

Nope, not what I was looking for.

The show/hide line weighs is something I was aware of.

Here is what I would like when to see when the documents are generated:

1. Cut element contours line weight = 0.35mm

2. Elevation (projection) element contours line weight = 0.2mm

3. Label leader lines = 0.09mm

4. Dimension lines = 0.09mm

I figured out how to configure the dim lines line weight, but the rest are a mystery to me at the moment.

The label leader lines, should use the same color as the dimension line if I remember correct.

From the screenshot provided you can clearly see that the dim line weights are less then those of label leader lines.

In the pdf the difference is much less dramatic, but it is real non the less.

As for 1. and 2. If you take a look at contour lines of the column on the left (shown in projection/elevation view) they are the same thickness as for the column shown in cut view on the right. All I'm looking for is a way to set them apart buy adjusting the lineweight accordingly.

I know that show/hide lineweights is relative, and does not show the "real" lineweights. This does not change the fact that I still dont know how to set the desired lineweight for elements shown i projection and cut view.

I am glad to provide any other info if requested.

you want another color for the contour line in the cutview?
Do made a detail style training? If not the customization could bring you errors, if you don't know what you change 😃
But what you want to change is presentation of the Side/Width, here is a setting: "Default"  for "Body Visible", this means in the detail is the color used, which is set in the Management Tools:

You could set here many other color, and so you could add your color wish and so you get your line weight.
You could create your own  "Color" in the database AstorDetailsBase-->DetACADSettings, it should be your number of the color (for example 233) in combination with the presentation style (you want Exact-->this means 1000), so your color should be 1233

But as I said, you could do many things wrong here, not only destroying one detail style, there could be many influence by the things you change.
If seen a lot error in the databases from people which working with it many years, so please be carefull, make backups or just ask your partner do this changes for you.

Now comes the experimentation part 🙂

Learning is a process of trial and error, well at least with me 😄 so better get started.

Still not sure where the lineweight settings are adjusted, but if I get stuck, I'll give a shout out.

We have been able to adjust line weight by layer, but not by line type.  This is set through the Layer Properties Manager.  We would love the ability to set the line weight by the line type.

Ok, so I managed to make some progress.

One more thing is buging me:

Is a way to set the color to apply only for the cut contours?

At the moment the best I could come up with is to make a couple of new object presentations with geometry restrictions (Side/Width). see attached

the color which are used are set in the presentation and the colors which are available are set in the DetAcadSettings which is located in in the AstorDetailsBase.

So you could define many presentation to set them for specific objects, I'm not sure, what you mean with Cut contour, this is the presentation for the beam contour-Front

I set up the camera to section through the beam, as you can see in picture ss1.

In picture ss2, is the goal I'm looking for. The contours lines for the sectioned beam are different then those of beams seen in projection.

The question I'm posing is if there is a better way of setting a different style for contours that are cut-sectioned through.
