If you are talking about the cleats for cold rolled purlins, this is due to the way the purlins are added to the roof. When added you are picking from left to right or right to left, this selection contols the orientation of the cleat. I think that when you copy the cleat accross the rafters were defined in the opposite way so therefore the cleat goes on the wrong side. Please attach a drawing as it may not be this reason.
