Hi,

You can import stp files as ACAD solids (in blocks) with import command. But there is no solution to import stp to AS objects. In general stp format is only to share models between different programs.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting on Advance Steel Forum 🙂

There are 2 Advance Steel import commands based on STEP file format:

- CIS/2

- PSS

The STEP format is quite open is it has different schemas. A product can import only the schemas that are recognized (implemented).

As example, the schema "AUTOMOTIVE_DESIGN" is not recognized by AS.

So I think you could try these commands first and see the results.

Then, if you do not succeed, you could try to export from the other product using different settings / schemas or other formats.

I hope these will help you

Best regards,
Emy
