Can someone tell me if I can cut the flange of the T beam at some point in the middle and not the edge.
or if there is away to do so.

Hi,
set the ucs to the web of the beam face, x running along the beam face.
then personally I would use the polygon feature contour from the features palette.
To make this work you could create a polyline outline of the cut out required, just use the online command and plot out shape, then you can choose to follow this under the polygon feature tool, it is a sub option.
