Holes in Beam Flanges Showing Improperly

I changed some settings around to not show holes in bottom flanges in top view and holes in top flanges in bottom views. The problem is now that the holes in the top flanges in the top view only show as a circle with no hatch or symbol. Same with the bottom view. I have ran through almost every presentation type trying to get these to show properly but to no avail I'm still stuck. Is there something I'm doing wrong here or is there some sort of setting that will get these to show properly.

Have a look at you object presentation for holes in both your top and bottom views.

These settings work for me.

I went through that and tried changing some of those settings. Nothing worked.

I've attached a screencast. What I find weird is that in the top and bottom views if you select the contour of the holes it is highlighting the whole beam. Where as in the front view where the hatches are visible if you select the holes it just highlights the holes.

You presentation for holes is incorrect, you need to make sure it is set to hatch visible,

the reason it picks up the hatch only on the web when you select is because it is a physical hatch pattern element, separate to to the beam. On the top it is only the hole shape that is part of the beam body.

If you double click the presentation line for holes, it will change the tab to show the make up of the presentation rule, if you then select the presentation you will see what it says about the different elements , line hatch and it’s options.

sorry not at PC for images.

I ended up figuring this out. It wasnt the presentation for the holes or anything ike that. What I ended up doing was going into the view direction and model box in the DSM and setting the front to 1/8" That way instead of it looking from the surface of the beam it's looking from an 1/8" above the beam. Not sure why I had to do that but I'm glad I got it figured out. Figured I would share for anybody looking to not get the holes on the opposite flange to not show up without having to delete then update.
