Grids Advance Properties Greyed Out

Any ideas why the Advance Properties are greyed out on these grids? If I create new grids I am able to access the Advance Properties.

If using projected grid, try selecting the grid at the base only.

@johnjmbennett Thank you for the reply. I am not sure if this solved my issue but somewhere along the line while working I was able to get the option.

Sorry for those in the future looking at this. I don't know what did it. Hopefully it was @johnjmbennett suggestion.

I have the same problem. I tried to activate just base and then to modify grids, but Advanced option keeps to be grayed out. What else can I do? Thank you!

If you have layers enabled, changes are not possible. If you have layers disabled, you can change the grid.

Thank you for your time to give your answer. 

I tested your answer on an existing project with layers either enabled or disabled, and now I can see Advance Properties option is active either way. I don't understand what has changed, but for sure I will come across this problem again and I would like to understand what is happening.
